“An Ode to my Childhood Craft Table” is an interactive piece where I invite viewers to sit, anywhere and however, on the bench. It is a representation and reconstruction of the plastic lap craft tables that I used to create art on as a child, scaled up and altered to fit my body as it has grown out of the childhood lap table, ornate with poems about childhood, intended to transform the viewer back into the space that I grew old in. A piece dedicated to my youth with the innocence and freedom that cease to exist in life now, and inspired by the clouds painted on the light blue walls of my childhood bedroom, and the bright plastic craft tables that we all know and love. 2023 Spring Wood, acrylic paint
